Our Heavy Track skidding systems are a simple, effective tool for moving heavy loads horizontally. The load, whether it is a transformer, heat exchanger, or some other heavy equipment, sits on skid shoes on a guided track. The loaded skid shoes are then pushed along by hydraulic cylinders.
All Hydra-Slide systems feature a ratchet track design, so when the cylinders are retracted, they will automatically reset into the next ratchet slot position for the next push cycle.
Our standard HT300 system package includes:
50 (15m) feet of double track
4 Push/Pull skid shoes with safety pins
2 hydraulic cylinder assemblies
Connecting bars & pins
Safety stop blocks
Graphite Lubricant
The push cylinders, accessories, and connecting hardware come packed conveniently in a steel Toolbox for storage and transport
The skid shoes and stop blocks are packed into a storage rack for easy mobilization
Additional track sections and components are also available
Hydra-Pac Synchronous Power Units provide synchronized control of multiple hydraulic cylinders. They are suitable for operation of all Hydra-Slide Skidding Systems, Turntables, Climbing Jacks, and other double-acting jacking applications. These power units are designed with multiple independent oil circuits, providing equal flow to each line regardless of weight distribution and allowing the operator to raise or lower virtually any load equally on all points.
Engineered 100-ton capacity modular steel stands—available in standard heights from 18″ to 48″ (460mm to 1220mm).
Our JLS250 jacking load shoes are load-compensating skid shoes designed to work with our Heavy Track skidding systems. This universal shoe can be used with both the HT300 and HT500 interchangeably. The JLS250 shoes can be connected hydraulically with any number of other shoes, increasing the total system capacity while maintaining equal load support and weight distribution.

It was the only complete solution considering dimensional constraints, safety and engineering concerns, speed, and control issues, while offering ease of use and functionality. We needed a solution that was pre-engineered, simple in design, and effective—regardless of weather conditions."
Lifting and rigging specialist AME Inc. used their Hydra-Slide HT300 heavy track skidding system to position two 160,000 lb (72,500 kg) boilers inside a packaging manufacturing facility at the base of the Smoky Mountains in North Carolina, USA.
AME received the boilers from a railcar, moved them to their final position inside the mill, and completed the installation, all while the facility remained operational. It took around three days to move each boiler from the railcars to the foundations—much faster than would have been possible with alternative methods.
There were coordinated schedule adjustments due to ongoing operation of the mill, such as trains coming through the work area and steel and piping deliveries, but even so, the 200 feet (60m) was traversed in about six hours.
